August Recap

A quick recap of things that happened this month.

A portfolio site is never finished

I update my site about 1–2 times a week. Everything from small tweaks to major content overhaul. Over the last few weeks, I took time to revisit how I talk about myself and how I present my work.

Being a multi-tool with a unique set of skills, I've always had a career-long struggle explaining who I am and what I do. Each round of small to major updates, I feel like I get clearer. But, after evolving my perspective, learning a new set of tools, or changing my primary audience, the cycle starts all over again.

I feel good about how my site represents me now. Although, I bet in about three months, I'll head back into an existential crisis about who I am and what I do and I'll redo my site all over again.

Maybe this is ok? We evolve as people and as designers, so our site should change as well. The hard part is making sure it truly represents us in the moment.

Do you experience this or feel the same way? Maybe I need to start a Portfolio Support Group...
